  • Q1 Update

    This is starting to sound like a business update/review ahaha.

    Personal:
    -Weight loss on going. Now the warmer weather is upon us (allegedly) can start walking more. Especially to and from the train station in the morning and after work. Met Q1 target for weight loss, now to push on for Q2.
    -Relationships are going well. Enjoying the poly lifestyle and all the enjoyment that comes with it. Partners are boss. Actually heading up to see one for 3 days as I write this. It’s also their birthday so we’re going to make that extra special xD

    Work:
    -Morale across the board is still in the gutter.
    -The alleged WFH policy that was due in January still hasn’t been implemented. I’m purely thinking it was clickbait to get those looking for hybrid/wfh jobs to stay (HIEEEEEE MEEEE). Last update was it was coming in as a trial in April and going live in May. Not a fucking whisper.
    -New work autonomy has been going very well. I’m free to make more decisions that matter for the UK office. Get fucked those that always doubted me. LOOKING AT YOU CARESTREAM DENTAL MANAGEMENT….
    -My off-site management of offices got downsized to one as the company sold off its US subsidiary. No cheeky US visits on the cards any more. We still have the AUS office.

    Gaming:
    -Pleborians are progressing nicely through the new raid. We are just hitting our Easter break for a week. Currently sitting at 7/8HC with prog into P2 of Gallywix after 17 pulls. Hopefully the week off will refresh those and we’ll come back strong.

    That’s pretty much it for now. Need to finish the packing before I head up North for relaxing times. Due to leave the house in about 90mins. Will arrive about 15:00 if the t rain is on time.

  • First week done

    Not the best start to my first working week of the year. Picked up that cute lil Norovirus bug that’s being super spread around here.

    Monday, felt rough in the afternoon, threw up at work. Got home after haircut and proceeded to spew everywhere.
    Tuesday, threw up four times during the night, got up at 7am and it came out both ends for a couple hours. Napped when I could. High temperatures and muscle fatigue followed.
    Wednesday, a little less sick a little more diarrhoea (isn’t that an Elvis song? 😂). High temps and muscle fatigue on-going.
    Thursday, no sick, little diarrhoea. Temps back to normalish, less muscle fatigue
    Friday, dragged myself to work. Solids returned. Temp normal. Muscles back to their elite competitor levels. Had to Usain Bolt to the toilet a couple times for false alarms but otherwise feeling better.

    Summary:
    Throat sore like a cheap whore.
    Johnny Cash at the back.

    Positives:
    Lost 3.5kg this week. Means I’m on the way to my Q1 weight loss target already.

    Negatives:
    Norovirus is pretty shitty. 0/10 would avoid in the future.

  • The year ahead

    Setting goals for 2025. In no specific order

    Two holidays abroad.
    Weight Loss.
    New Job.
    Enjoy those extracurricular events more.
    Go to more events.
    Go back to Anfield.

  • We start the year 2025

    We start off 2025 with some little milestones for weight loss.
    Rather than aim for a big number, we’re looking at smaller manageable chunks for the year

    Start of the year: 129.4kg
    End of Quarter 1: -5kg
    End of Quarter 2: -5kg
    End of Quarter 3 (deadline my birthday): -5kg
    End of year: -20kg total.

    Breaking it up into smaller chunks means monthly goals are attainable. If there’s a bad month then it can be course corrected without any major stressors.

  • End of year – 2024 Update

    Well the year is almost over. 2024 has been quite a year.

    -Personal:
    Dad turning 70
    Eldest nephew turning 18
    10th Anniversary of losing Mum
    Had lots of fun breaks from work this year. Saw my Leeds people lots of times. More in 2025.
    Only worked 8 working days in August. Need to work non in 2025.

    -Health:
    Still have <insert medical condition here>. However, now technically pre-<medical condition>. So that’s a huge fucking win, especially in about 16months (April 2023 – August 2024).
    Eyes are better. Got new glasses in Feb, nearly cried ahaha.
    MET MY END OF YEAR WEIGHT LOSS GOAL BEFORE CHRISTMAS. FUCKING MADE UP AT THAT!! (Just need to make sure Christmas doesn’t dent it 😂)

    -Work:
    Work has been mostly a shit show from start to finish. We’ve lost some very good people due to how they were treated by management.
    The HR c*nt got fired because she thought it was funny to make a joke about my medical condition to 3 people in the office. She didn’t expect me to take it as far as I did. Good riddance.
    One of the execs somehow still employed. (See above about losing good people).
    My end of year review was good, maybe even great and I was given further autonomy to make the decisions that matter, without oversight from the top. Finally.
    Still fighting with Head Office about petty things over integrations into our ERP solution. They’ll see that I’m right.
